The application consists of three parts: program application, code of conduct agreement, and program waiver. Any incomplete applications will not be processed.
There are only 50 spots available in the Aide program. Applicants are accepted into the Aide program based on facility and session availability, prior experience, and interpersonal skills demonstrated during the interview. This program becomes more competitive each year. We expect between 75-100 applications in 2016.
1) 13-15 years old
2) completed Aide application
3) attend ONE JG Aide interview date
4) able to aide in at least 2 sessions (Monday-Friday; 8:30a-4:30p)
5) attend training session

What to expect:
Aides assist the Junior Lifeguard Instructors (JGI) during each session. Their responsibilities range from setting-up activities/games, leading small groups during a station, assisting struggling JGs with rescue or first aid skills, and much more. Aides will get as much out of the program as they put into it. Aides are expected to act as role models to younger JGs and follow the Code of Conduct Agreement (see application packet). Therefore, at the end of each session, Aides will be evaluated by the lead Junior Lifeguard Instructor. A copy will be sent home with the Aide on Friday.
Includes full uniform (shorts, shirt, rash guard, and hat), training day(s), and 2 sessions assigned to aide in. If accepted into the program, the fee must be paid by June 3rd.

The Aide program is offered every session at Lake Anza at Tilden Regional Park, Cull Canyon Regional Recreation Area, Shadow Cliffs Regional Recreation Area (sessions 4-7 only), Crown Beach (Session 2, 4, 6 and 8 only) and Contra Loma Regional Park. See application for dates.
